가사의 chorus 부분에는 good times, bad times, give me some of that이 반복된다.
'좋은 시간이든, 나쁜 시간이든, 나에게 무엇인가를 선사해' 정도로 해석할 수 있는 뜻인데,
중년이 되어, 거칠게 번역하면, 그냥 살아가면, 그렇게 살아진다까지라고도 해석할 수 있을 것 같다.

 

참고로 1966년생인 에디 브리켈은,  1992년 5월30일에 "사이먼 앤 가펑클"의 사이먼, Paul Simon과 결혼을 했다고 위키미디어에 기록되어 있다.

내용을 보면, 1941년생인 폴 사이먼에게, 에디 브리켈이 먼저 관심을 보인 것 같이 해석된다.   그리고 여전히 그들은 30년이 넘는 시간 동안 결혼 생활을 잘 유지하고 있는 것 같다.

 

이 글을 작성하는 덕에, 사이먼 앤 가펑클의 명곡을 다시 듣게 된다.   심플하고 아름답다.  선율은 영원한 것이구나.
